How time flies. Starting in 1987, Gareth Thomas set up Intégrale on his own, to provide high end geotechnical support and advice to a wide range of clients. Since then, the company and industry have changed, but Intégrale still provide that same level of high end geotechnical (and contaminated land) support. To celebrate, we have developed a new logo and corporate image, and we hope you like what we have achieved. The new report types will be issued from August. Let us know what you think!
After 12 years of loyal and dedicated service to Intégrale, our Office Manager, Julie Matthews, has decided to retire. Almost all of our clients will know Julie, and we’re sure you will join us in wishing her all the very best for her well earned retirement! The team at Intégrale thanked her with a celebratory meal at The Pig near Bath as well as some vouchers for a deserved holiday. Stepping into Julie’s shoes is Laura Dury, who will continue to provide great support for the technical team, and our clients.
Sean Jefferson made it all the way from regional to national finals in the Early Career Geologist Award, hosted by the Geological Society, at the home of geology in Burlington House, Piccadilly, London. Sean’s fantastic presentation was on developing low cost/high value investigation solutions, particularly when dealing with technically challenging, one off, privately owned sites. His example was a replacement house on a formerly quarried site, handily located over the former quarry edge! With a clever mix of investigating techniques, Sean conceived a range of foundation solutions, without bankrupting the project. An excellent presentation, and as noted by the judges, the future of geo-science is in safe hands! Well done Sean.
Well done to our Andy Harris, who, having submitted a thorough application and delivered an “excellent presentation” has been professionally recognised as a Chartered Geologist. Andy is now looking forward to supporting and encouraging others within Intégrale, to achieve the same status (not to mention some new business cards brandishing him as CGeol FGS).
It started with a desk study in 2003 and 14 years later it’s finished! Intégrale completed a series of investigations, risk assessments, remedial works and validation of construction for this 2.6 hectare site in Calne, Wiltshire. It had formerly been a railway station, sidings and length of embankment, subsequently used over many decades for a whole range of industrial and commercial purposes, with above and below ground oil, fuel and creosote storage, chemical and waste storage, compressors and plant areas. Our geotechnical and contaminated land advice has meant the successful site remediation and redevelopment of 102 residential units. We were recently back in the area and pleased to see our hard work and expertise did not go to waste! What was for a long time derelict contaminated land, now offers modern housing and community space.
We would like to welcome Laura Dury, who has become the newest member of the Intégrale team taking up a role as Administration Assistant. Laura will use her skills honed whilst working in digital marketing within the national drinks wholesale industry to effectively support all members of the team and ensure we maintain a high level of accuracy in everything we produce.
