Since 2017 Intégrale have completed desk studies, intrusive investigation and detailed risk assessment of this substantial sloping area, covering a succession of Jurassic soils and rocks, partially overlain by thick Blown Sands.

Historical ironstone working features were assessed, and we liaised on the shallow depth agricultural and drainage characteristics of these very light sandy soils.

The scale of the development required examination under the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Planning regime and permission was granted in 2022.

Once completed, this 225 hectare site next to the British Steel works at Scunthorpe will create enough renewable power for up to 60,000 homes a year.
